Campaign Update - Week of 3/7/2011

Chain of Rocks Bridge Tragedy Anniversary
April 4 will mark the 20th anniversary of the Bridge tragedy. This is the fateful day the paths of Reggie and his companions intersected with that of the Kerry sisters and their cousin, Tom Cummins. Please mark your calendar for a commemoration on that day. Details will be coming soon.

Election Day is Tomorrow
Don’t forget to vote. And after you vote, get some signatures for Reggie’s petition.

Good News/Bad News
The good news is that last week, the jury gave Todd Shepard life without parole in the murder of the University City police officer. Shepard confessed on the stand to the murder of Sgt. Mike King. A psychiatrist testified that Todd is delusional, paranoid—the mental state of the perpetrator is one of the mitigating circumstances that must be considered in a capital murder case.

The bad news is that the Missouri Supreme Court has denied the appeals of Ernest Lee Johnson, opening the door for an execution date. We will keep you posted on any developments in this case.
