April 4 Commemoration
April 4 will mark the 20th anniversary of the Chain of Rocks Bridge tragedy. The Campaign will hold a commemoration on Monday, April 4 from 6:00-7:00 pm at North Riverfront Park, just south of the Bridge. Keep on Riverview Drive and turn at Spring Garden Drive into the park. Look for green balloons at the entrance; once in the parking lot, look for Reggie’s banner. In case of bad weather, Legacy Books and Cafe will host us at 5249 Delmar Blvd. Spread the word because although it is a solemn occasion, we want to build momentum towards the September 19 hearing date.
The Commemoration is less than an hour long so that those in attendance can support two other events honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, one sponsored by the Universal African People’s Organization and the other by Clergy Coalition.
