Good News on the Justice Front
Prosecutors have ended the 30 year pursuit of trying to execute Mumia Abu Jamala for the 1981 murder of a Philly police officer. This opens up the space for Mumia and his supporters to pursue justice without the threat of execution looming over him.
Recently, a Chicago judge overturned the convictions of the four men based on DNA evidence of their innocence. Michael Saunders and Harold Richardson both served 17 years in prison for a crime they didn’t commit. Co-defendants Terrill Swift, who is on parole, was cleared, and Vincent Thames, who completed his sentence, was released. All four had been wrongfully convicted in a 1994 murder.
*Reminder, this is not a legal petition so anyone can sign it regardless of residency, age, or voter eligibility.
