HB 1683 is the death-penalty study and execution moratorium bill introduced by Rep Bill Deeken ® and has broad bi-partisan sponsorship. It can’t move forward unless it is assigned to a committee.

Lobby Day Opportunities
There are 2 lobby days planned in February and March so hopefully your schedule can accommodate one of them.
Tuesday, February 16–ACLU Bill of Rights Lobby Day will address a number of issues from the death penalty to police accountability to reproductive rights. Transportation is free on a first served basis. Breakfast and lunch are provided. Bus leaves the ACLU office (454 N. Whittier) at 7:00 am and returns at 5:30 pm Call Scott for bus reservations at 314.652-3114, ext. 23.
Wednesday, March 17–The Moratorium Now! Coalition will sponsor a moratorium lobby day. Details are being finalized.
